Let the #DESAdventures Begin!

Greetings DES Families,

It is my pleasure and honor to introduce myself as the new principal of Denton Elementary School. I am extremely proud and excited to join the DES school community and to support our students and families.

I am a native of Pennsylvania but have lived on the Eastern Shore for 13 years. For the past 6 years I have lived in Denton with my husband Brad and our three dogs, Jax, Gemma and Ozzy. I enjoy gardening, DIY projects, reading and spending time with my family and friends.

I attended Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania where I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Exceptionalities. I taught as a Special Education teacher for nine years and then earned an Administrator 1 Certification from Salisbury University. I began my journey in school administration as the assistant principal at DES for 1 year. For the past 3 years, I have been the assistant principal at Ridgely Elementary School. Currently, I am in the final steps of completing my doctoral studies in contemporary literacy at Salisbury University. I consider myself a lifelong learner and value the importance of staying current in education.

My intentions for our school community include supporting and empowering all students and families in a diverse and ever-changing world. I want families and staff to work together to create meaningful memories at DES. I am truly looking forward to an amazing year with many new adventures.

I am excited about meeting the students when the school year begins, and equally as excited about meeting their families. Please be on the lookout for upcoming opportunities for us to get to know one another!
